Auxilia by Russell Zimmerman is a Warhammer 40,000 novel following Castellan-Colonel Roane, a young and brash officer tasked with commanding a ragtag auxiliary force of despised abhumans. With a murderous commissar openly loathing his troops and the Departmento Munitorum seemingly indifferent to their fate, Roane faces an almost impossible challenge.
As he struggles to shape his unit into a force worthy of the Astra Militarum, Roane must contend with enemies both within and beyond his command. A story of the Imperial Guard, military duty and survival against the odds.
