Italeri AS.42 Sahariana 1:72 Scale Model Kit – WWII Italian Desert Reconnaissance Vehicle

The Italeri AS.42 Sahariana 1:72 scale model kit recreates the Italian royal army’s purpose-built reconnaissance vehicle, engineered for desert warfare during world War II. Developed from the proven chassis of the ab 41 armoured car, the Sahariana was specially designed for high mobility across sand-covered terrain, offering excellent range and speed for long-distance patrols and rapid strike missions. Its low profile and wide wheels made it a key vehicle in fast reconnaissance and deep penetration operations across North Africa.

This detailed plastic model kit includes a decal sheet for two authentic wartime versions and is ideal for hobbyists interested in historical military vehicles and desert campaign modelling. The as.42 Sahariana is known for its variable armament options, often featuring the Breda 20/65 machine gun, 47/32 anti-tank gun or Solothurn 20 mm rifle, making it a versatile addition to any 1:72 scale collection.

Measuring 7.8 cm when assembled, this unpainted model requires glue and paint (not included) and is suitable for modellers aged 14 and up. Italeri’s commitment to detail and historical accuracy makes this kit a strong choice for building dioramas or expanding axis vehicle collections.
