Otaku Vampire’s Love Bite, Vol. 5 – Julietta Suzuki – Shojo Beat Manga
Otaku Vampire’s Love Bite, Vol. 5 by Julietta Suzuki is an engaging addition to the whimsical graphic novel series, blending elements of horror, romance, and otaku culture. This 168-page paperback is rated teen+ and part of the Shojo Beat collection, making it a delightful read for young adult fans and lovers of quirky narratives.
In this volume, meet Hina Alucard, a modern vampire who drinks blood from bags rather than humans. As a complete shut-in for 30 years, Hina’s life takes an unexpected turn when her father gifts her a DVD of the popular anime Vampire Cross. Instantly enchanted, especially by the character Mao, Hina’s obsession propels her out of her bedroom in Romania and into Japan, where she aims to live her ultimate otaku dream!
Meanwhile, Kyuta struggles to recover after a harrowing experience at the vampire bar. In a bid to lift his spirits, Hina insists on a visit to the zoo for some cute-animal therapy. However, their plans swiftly derail when they unexpectedly encounter Rinya, Mao’s voice actor. Normally, this would be a thrilling moment for Hina, but Rinya’s numerous secrets and probing questions shatter her joy, and his presence derails the positive effect of the adorable animals on Kyuta’s mood.
Otaku Vampire’s Love Bite, Vol. 5 is packed with humour, heartfelt moments, and the intriguing clash of otaku culture with vampire lore. This volume is perfect for readers looking for a fun escape into a world where passion for anime meets supernatural shenanigans.
