The Death Korps of Krieg are known for their unwavering discipline, grim resolve, and willingness to fight — and die — without hesitation. But for Commissar Valian Hesh, their relentless zeal becomes a terrifying obstacle. Death Rider follows Hesh as he battles not the T’au Empire, but his own regiment’s suicidal determination.
Trapped on a world already doomed to extermination by an approaching Imperial battleship, the Krieg 472nd Siege Regiment is intent on launching one final, hopeless assault against the T’au lines. With smoke and toxins choking the atmosphere and time running out, Commissar Hesh must achieve the impossible: restrain the Death Korps long enough to organise a retreat — and save thousands of soldiers who would gladly die before yielding ground.
This gripping hardback novel offers a rare, character-driven look into the bleak psychology of the Death Korps, blending battlefield brutality with tense moral conflict. Perfect for fans of Imperial Guard fiction, grim military sci-fi, and Black Library’s darker Warhammer 40,000 stories.
