ICM ‘Tankabwehr 1918’ German WWI Soldiers

Recreate a German anti-tank defence unit from the First World War with the ICM Tankabwehr 1918 German WWI Soldiers scale model kit.

When British Mark I tanks first appeared on the Somme in 1916, German troops had few effective ways of dealing with them. As the war progressed, Germany developed specialised anti-tank weapons, including the Mauser Tankgewehr M1918, widely regarded as the world’s first anti-tank rifle specifically designed to destroy armoured vehicles.

The Mauser Tankgewehr was a single-shot 13.2mm weapon operated by a two-man crew. It weighed 17.7kg and was capable of penetrating significant levels of armour at battlefield ranges. German anti-tank units were also supported by machine guns, which could target vulnerable areas of enemy armoured vehicles.

This detailed ICM kit depicts German soldiers operating a Mauser Tankgewehr M1918 alongside an MG 08 machine gun team, creating a dynamic First World War anti-tank defence scene.
