Since its introduction into service in 1979, the leopard 2 has undergone continuous improvements in technology, armament, and armour, and is still regarded as one of the best Main Battle Tanks in the world. The leopard 2A4 represents a significant advancement over its predecessors, featuring a 120mm Rheinmetall L/55 smoothbore gun and modern composite protection.
