The Sipahi Cavalry were a key mounted arm of Ottoman armies during the Pike & Shotte era, providing fast-moving shock troops and battlefield mobility across early modern campaigns. Designed for historical tabletop wargaming, this set allows you to field elite Ottoman cavalry in your Pike & Shotte forces.
Although the Ottoman military tradition placed greater emphasis on mobile and flexible cavalry rather than heavy Western-style knights, the Sipahis played a crucial battlefield role. Armed with lances, swords, and shields, they were used to disrupt enemy formations, target isolated units, and harass opposing forces before withdrawing to allow infantry or artillery to engage.
This boxed set also represents elements of the elite Kapikulu Sipahis, the Sultan’s household cavalry divisions, renowned for their superior equipment and status within the Ottoman military structure. Together, these units provide a strong core of mounted troops for Ottoman armies in Pike & Shotte gameplay.
Ideal for expanding your historical collection, these Sipahi cavalry models integrate seamlessly into Ottoman forces and support both narrative scenarios and larger tabletop battles across the Pike & Shotte system.
