This detailed 1:72 scale model set from Zvezda depicts the Russian Infantry during the First World War. The set includes 40 infantry miniatures and 1 machine gun, capturing the look and feel of Russian soldiers from 1914 to 1918 with historical accuracy and fine sculpting.
Following the defeat in the Russo-Japanese War (1904–1905), the Russian Army underwent significant reforms. Efforts were made to improve the training of enlisted men, non-commissioned officers, and officers, applying the lessons learned from previous conflicts. Despite these reforms, challenges remained, and by 1914 the army’s readiness was still developing. At the start of World War I, Russia maintained a peacetime strength of approximately 1.3 million troops, expanding to nearly 6 million by October 1914 through mobilization. Over the course of the war, around 12 million soldiers served under the Russian banner.
