Paperback high school meets Romeo and Juliet in The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity Vol 1 romance manga. Two rival schools stand next door to each other. Chidori High is a boys’ school known for taking in students with the lowest grades, while neighbouring Kikyo Girls’ High is attended by daughters from wealthy, high-class families.
Rintaro, a second-year student at Chidori, may have a fierce face, but he has a gentle heart. While helping at his family’s patisserie, he meets Kaoruko and the two quickly hit it off. Their peaceful meeting takes an unexpected turn when Rintaro discovers that Kaoruko is actually a student at Kikyo.
With their schools firmly divided, Rintaro and Kaoruko must find their own path while dealing with the problems created by their classmates.
