Yamaha RZV500R – Tamiya 1/12 Scale Motorcycle Plastic Model Kit

The Tamiya Yamaha RZV500R 1:12 scale motorcycle model kit is a detailed plastic model from Tamiya, recreating one of the most iconic two stroke sports bikes of the 1980s. Based on the legendary road going machine inspired by Yamaha’s racing technology, this kit offers an accurate and rewarding build for scale model enthusiasts.

Originally unveiled at the 1983 Tokyo Motor Show, the Yamaha RZV500R was heavily influenced by the YZR500 race bike, featuring a lightweight design and a powerful 500cc two stroke water cooled V4 engine. This model kit captures those engineering highlights with precise detail, including the engine layout, SU carburettors, air cleaner and expansion chambers.

This updated reissue includes a B5 size double sided reference pamphlet with full colour photographs of the real motorcycle, providing helpful guidance for painting and finishing. An updated multi language instruction manual is also included, making the build process more accessible.

The model features realistic suspension detail, including a rear Monocross system with a metal spring, along with accurately scaled tyres measuring 16 inches at the front and 18 inches at the rear. High quality Cartograf decals are included to ensure a sharp and authentic finish. This is a 1:12 scale plastic model kit that requires assembly and painting. Modelling tools, paint and adhesives are needed to complete the build. It is ideal for hobbyists, motorcycle enthusiasts and collectors looking to recreate a classic performance bike in scale form.

Perfect for scale model builders interested in motorbikes and classic racing inspired machines, the Yamaha RZV500R offers both display appeal and a satisfying construction experience.
